Euroleague, Olimpia Milano: Ettore Messina saw a player in trouble
Olimpia was defeated by Real Madrid.
After the defeat cashed, at the Assago Forum, by Real Madrid, the coach of Olimpia Milano spoke to reporters, analyzing the game, valid for the sixth day of the first phase of the Euroleague.
“They entered the second half more aggressive , we missed too many shots … instead they scored when it was needed,” explained the coach of the meneghina team.
Then Messina pointed out that one Milanese player was in great difficulty: “We have to help Brandon Davies find himself, he missed easy conclusions.” The former Barcelona man, who arrived in the summer, finished with 5 points on the bench.
A few words also from Real Madrid coach Chus Mateo: “A great game in an incredible atmosphere. An important victory on a difficult court. Allowed too many three-point shots in the first quarter but in the second half we did better.”
Last season, Ettore Messina’s team returned to win the Scudetto, snatching it from Virtus Segafredo Bologna’s jerseys. The red-and-whites, who had finished in second place right behind Sergio Scariolo’s team in the regular season, immediately brought the court factor to their side in the final series and never let the Felsinians catch them again. In the Euroleague, Sergio Rodriguez (who said goodbye to the Red Shoes in the summer to return to Spain) and his teammates were eliminated by Ergin Ataman’s Anadolu Efes, who would win the tournament for the second year in a row.
