This defeat, the second in three games, leaves Milan stuck in fourth place in the standings at 32 points. Udine, on the other hand, breaks a series of three consecutive knockouts and climbs back up to 18 points in tenth place, -2 from the playoff zone.
University coach Adriano Vertemati commented on his team’s victory as follows. “I am happy for this beautiful audience, for our president. It’s the guys who deserve it, it’s not easy to always get close and then never make it. Bravo. We have done well so many times on this field of ours, and today we were, I use a word we like a lot, resilient. We didn’t play well for three quarters but we were resilient. While in the last quarter we found our way, both front and back, we were good at the end and finally, even a little bit lucky.”
