The Miami Masters 1000 final between Jannik Sinner and Jiří Lehečka has been postponed due to rain that hit the Florida city on Sunday. Beginning an hour and a half before the scheduled match time (9 p.m. Italian time), the rain continued unrelenting even at high intensity, forcing organizers to postpone the event.

At the moment, the field is flooded and the match has been postponed after 10 p.m., but it could slip further into an overnight time for Italy. Should it be canceled, the match would be made up the next day, Monday.

While waiting to find out what will happen, Sinner has been playing soccer with his coaching staff while officials are working to dry the field. The Blue is in the hunt for important points to again shorten his disadvantage from world number one Carlos Alcaraz, who was eliminated in the third round of the Florida Masters 1000.

Sinner has faced Lehečka three times in his career, overcoming him on all occasions without ever losing a set.
