Matteo Librizzi warns Sassari: "We can win with anyone"

In a very peculiar day for Varese basketball, marked by rumors of Gerry Cardinale’s interest in the sports title of Varese Basketball in order to transfer it to Milan and create a franchise of NBA Europe right in the Lombard capital, the priorities purely related to the court are also on the table, since in Masnago, Sunday at 5:00 pm.30, the red-and-whites will play a chance to stay anchored to the playoff train against Dinamo Sassari, back from four consecutive knockouts.
“To Milan the sporting title of Varese”: the sensational indiscretion
Host of the program ‘Luci a Masnago’ on Radio Materia, class of 2002 point guard Matteo Librizzi also mentioned Varese’s next opponents: “The playoffs remain a goal within our reach – he said -. The next competitions will require attention, but they are challenges that we can face with confidence, starting with the one on Sunday against Sassari.”
“In these months we have shown that we can compete and win against anyone. That’s why I continue to believe that the goal is real: the daily work and the mentality we are building clearly show how much we want to get there,” concluded Librizzi, who starred in the previous home game won by Varese 97-87 over Tortona, with 11 points on the scoreboard.
No word, from Librizzi himself, on the NBA Europe issue: the player, during the interview, confirmed that Luis Scola, CEO of Varese Basketball, gave a speech to the team without, however, specifying the nature of his words or whether, in fact, there was talk of the resounding hypothesis reported on Thursday.
Turning 24 years old last April 6, Matteo Librizzi took his first steps in Robur and then moved to the youth ranks of Varese Basketball at the age of 12. Having completed the classic trafila, he also played for the Varese Academy in 2020-2021 and, on loan, at Robur itself the following season, later returning to base and making his Serie A debut. His current contract with the red and white club, renewed in 2025, will expire at the end of the 2027-2028 season.
