Everyone wants former Olimpia Milano Luigi Suigo: immediate NBA Draft or an NCAA experience?

Luigi Suigo, class of 2007, is burning the candle at the seams. A star player in the Mega Belgrade jersey, the long Blue is about to make one of the most important decisions of his career. At the end of the current season, he will have to choose what to do in the coming years. Two very special options are on the table.

The first: make himself eligible for the upcoming NBA Draft. Several times, the former Olimpia Milano player reiterated how his dream was to play in the NBA. Now might be the right time. Someone with his characteristics (221 cm in height) would be useful to several NBA franchises (possible that he will be chosen in the second round).

Then there is the other option, which is to go for an experience in the NCAA, as the other quasi ex-white-and-white Quinn Ellis will do. So many American universities that would have already stepped forward. Luigi Suigo himself has already visited some of them (among them Purdue), just to see if the NCAA chance is worth taking or not. In this case, it would go a long way. There are rumors of a possible deal at about $4.8 million, just like Quinn Ellis at St. John’s.

In the meantime, several Olimpia Milano fans regret his departure. Given his high potential, they should have retained him and let him grow in the red and white jersey. In light of what American universities and the NBA dream can offer, economically speaking, to think that one could “manage” Luigi Suigo is pure utopia. There remains the meager consolation of having seen him take his first steps in an EA7 jersey. Who knows, maybe one day he will return there but, for now, he has ambitions and goals that do not include Milan.
