Marc Marquez is pleased with how the Qatar tests ended: “We saved the preseason. We were in a very bad shape, with no pace and no understanding of what was going on, so we made some big changes. Honda did its part, but the gamble was mainly mine, my team and my chief mechanic.”
“After the crash we found a big step forward. We stayed in the pits a long time because I wanted a radical change on the bike. We did it and it worked,” added the Spaniard.
Marquez also talked about what happened in the finale, when he stayed in Lorenzo’s slipstream who was completing his race simulation, “Jorge passed me and I thought it happened because I had no pace. But then I was able to follow him and I finished with him. I apologized to him because it’s not nice, but I needed it.”
“If the race was tomorrow, I think I could fight for the podium, but I don’t want to dare. The situation is that if we come to another circuit and we have the same problems we encountered here, then we will be very far away because we can’t make all the changes we have made,” the concluded to Motorsport.com.
