Inter Scudetto, Lautaro Martinez: "It was not easy after last year"

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez exults after winning the 21st Scudetto, his third personal one: “The first Scudetto was the first trophy as a professional. The second was the second star, this one after last year’s suffering season. It’s hard to make a ranking.”

“There is so much satisfaction, it was not easy to start again, also because of how we ended the World Cup. The coach and the group made the difference. What is special about us? The will to win, when one wins it is always difficult to win again. This mentality of bringing trophies to this great club is the main goal in our group. Last year by one point we didn’t make it, in a little while we have another final and a Cup that we are missing.”

Chivu’s role: “He has given us new air and a lot of freedom, he is bringing forward an idea of modern soccer. Cristian has helped us a lot and so has he. It was a long and complicated championship, there was no lack of difficulties, but in the end we managed to win it in a deserved way.”

The dedication to his loved ones: “I dedicate it to my parents, my children, my wife, my relatives who arrived today from Argentina and my grandparents who are in heaven but are always with me.”
