Toni Nadal destroys Alexander Zverev and exposes himself on Jannik Sinner

Although the tennis world has already moved on to turn the spotlight on Rome and the Internazionali d’Italia, there are those who have taken a step back by returning to the Madrid Masters 1000 final, in which Jannik Sinner demolished Alexander Zverev in just 58 minutes of play: we are talking about Toni Nadal, who intervening at the microphones of Spanish broadcaster ‘Onda Cero’ had more than something to say about the German tennis player himself.
“Sunday’s was a final that lasted less than an hour, and yet the number one and number three in the world were on the court,” said Rafa Nadal’s uncle, who was also the latter’s historical coach. I would say that such a thing is not normal: I had the feeling that Zverev went down the court already with a weight on him, almost resigned.”
The former coach not only of Nadal but also of Felix Auger-Aliassime then also commented on the match played by Jannik Sinner, again not holding back, though lavishing compliments. “Sinner made it clear to Zverev that he is superior to him in everything he said.”
Jannik is a solid and continuous player, he completely erased Zverev’s confidence: when you lack confidence it becomes very complicated to play with everyone.
Zverev’s loss to Sinner was his ninth consecutive straight set loss: the German, who had won four head-to-heads between 2020 and 2023, has never since been able to beat the Azzurro, also winning just two sets against the nineteen in favor of the Sexten Pustertal outfielder.
And yet the rankings tell of only two places apart: between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev, in fact, there is only Carlos Alcaraz even though the scores of the three speak for themselves, since Sinner, at the last update, has 14,350 points, Alcaraz 12,960 and Zverev less than half of both, 5,805.
