Lego Stadium arrives in Milan: three days of soccer, creativity and challenges

Gruppo Lego

Just a few weeks before the start of the FIFA World Cup 2026, LEGO Stadium, the LEGO Italia signature experience that combines soccer, creativity and fun, opened to the public today. Until May 17, Piazza Gae Aulenti, in Milan’s Portanuova district, is transformed into an immersive space dedicated to fans and families, with interactive activities, LEGO constructions and challenges inspired by the world of football. Inaugurating the event was Alessandro Del Piero, 2006 World Champion and symbol of Italian soccer, who was the protagonist of the meeting with fans and the launch press conference. The initiative stems from the collaboration between LEGO and the FIFA World Cup 2026 and celebrates the new football-themed sets, including the LEGO Editions Soccer Ball, the LEGO Editions Official FIFA World Cup Trophy and the collections dedicated to contemporary soccer icons.

With LEGO Stadium, LEGO Italia aims to enhance the most authentic aspect of sport: play, imagination and sharing. A significant message especially in light of an important fact: in Italy, 6 out of 10 children abandon soccer between the ages of 11 and 14 because they stop having fun. The goal of the initiative is therefore to bring back to the center a soccer made of imagination, passion and team spirit. For three days, visitors will be able to enter a LEGO box-shaped maxi installation, set up next to the LEGO Store Porta Nuova, and live an experience that recalls the atmosphere of a real stadium, including bleachers, play areas and activities designed for all ages.

Among the experiences on offer will be: the construction of an exclusive LEGO kit in the shape of a collectible soccer boot; a child-size statue of a soccer player in LEGO bricks; interactive games, dribbling challenges and shots on goal; and a DUPLO area dedicated to the little ones.

The event will be open today, May 15, from 2:30 to 8 p.m., and May 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. During the opening day, fans can also meet LEGO designer Christophe Vietti at the LEGO Store Porta Nuova for a special signing session dedicated to the LEGO Editions Official FIFA World Cup Trophy set.
