Ducati VR46, Di Giannantonio has more than one regret

The Ducati VR46 team centaur Fabio Di Giannantonio commented with regret on his third place in the Sprint race of the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix. The rider of Valentino Rossi’s team in Barcelona went up in the short race, so much so that to Sky he did not hide a certain bitterness for the mistake in qualifying that did not allow him to fight for the top from the start.
“I am very happy with my race and my comeback, let’s say I did what I had to do. Honestly, though, I’m a little upset about a mistake in qualifying that forced me to start from the second row complicating my life. I tried to be aggressive but I made a mistake.”
“I feel like I had more than Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta, with a few more laps I could have competed for the win. Overall I had the right pace and I was fast, I tried to stay in front without making mistakes,” are the words to Sky.
Di Giannantonio is aiming for the podium again on Sunday: “A lot will depend on the tires. A year ago Acosta did the race with soft and honestly I would not discard a priori this option because, really, in the final today I had some and it was not dropping. There is very little grip and I absolutely love it it feels almost like motocross. The sprint at the start? We are working and we made progress over the weekend, but in Barcelona the start straight is very long and anything can always happen.”
