Two fractures for Alex Marquez, operated on as early as this evening

“Álex is fine,” had declared Roser Alentá, Álex Márquez’ mother, a few minutes after the violent accident in Montmeló, after visiting her son in the circuit clinic. Earlier, the organization had also tried to calm everyone down, reporting that the rider was “conscious.” Shortly thereafter it emerged that Márquez had been transported by ambulance to the General Hospital of Catalonia in Sant Cugat.
A few hours later Team Gresini, team of the 2025 vice world champion, released an update on the Catalan rider’s condition following medical checks. “Ithe rider suffered a fracture in his right clavicle that will be operated on in the evening. A marginal fracture at the C7 vertebra will instead be evaluated in the coming days,” the note reads. Of greatest concern is above all the fracture in the cervical vertebra.
For the moment, no precise recovery time has been indicated, but Márquez’s presence at the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello, scheduled in two weeks, is already ruled out. A possible return for the stage in Hungary is also very difficult. Much will depend on the outcome of the surgery and the rehabilitation path.
