At the end of the race, Filippo Ganna commented with satisfaction on his success: “We worked a lot during the winter to prepare for the time trials, and the results are also seen in the team’s ranking riders, such as Thymen Arensman, who was second today as he was at Tirreno-Adriatico. It is a great victory for us. Now we can enjoy this night and then focus on the next stages of the Giro. I enjoyed such a long time trial with no climbs. From today another Giro starts for me: this stage was a very important goal, but I want to try to win again, maybe on Friday in the home stage.”
