Sassari keeps an eye on Trieste and applies for repechage

Dinamo Sassari’s painful relegation to Serie A2 is leading to drawing future scenarios that were hardly predictable until a few days ago. As far as the bench is concerned, the name of Luca Vitali, who was Pierluigi Brotto’s assistant at Vanoli Cremona last season and who has seen his name approached by Aquila Trento, which will part ways with Massimo Cancellieri at the end of the playoffs, has popped up.

According to Nuova Sardegna, the island club would have applied for repechage: the picture depends mainly on the situations of other clubs, including Trieste. In this context, if spots in Serie A were to become free, the Legabasket could resort to repechages to complete the roster.

Sassari, although relegated, would be among the main candidates to benefit from one of these slots, by virtue of its recent sports history and the stability of the club compared to other more uncertain situations.

At the moment, however, there is no officialdom: these scenarios are still being considered, linked to corporate and federal decisions that will have to be clarified in the coming weeks.
