In spite of a very complicated start to 2026, Fabio Pisacane’s Cagliari managed to achieve salvation and ended the season on a high note by beating AC Milan 2-1 at San Siro. The island’s formation finished the championship in 14th place with 43 points in 38 matches, the result of 11 wins, 10 draws and 17 defeats.

In the summer soccer session Guido Angelozzi will have the task of strengthening Fabio Pisacane’s team and there will be several changes in the offensive department as well. Leonardo Pavoletti said goodbye to the Sardinian fans (possible future in the club’s management for him) and the future of Semih Kılıçsoy is far from Sardinia. The Turkish talent has not been able to find the right feeling with Pisacane and will most likely wear the Besiktas jersey next year.

There are also big doubts about Andrea Belotti: the Rooster was very unlucky and ruptured the cruciate ligament in his knee at the end of September against Inter. He returned in April but since then he has played just 28 minutes between Cremonese, Inter, Atalanta, Udinese and Torino.

As far as the incoming market is concerned, Cagliari is carefully evaluating the profile of Patson Daka, who will be free from Leicester. The center forward has no intention of following the Foxes into League One (the English third league) and has already asked his entourage to find him a new home.

The 1998-born forward has worn the shirts of Green Buffaloes, Kafue Celtic, Power Dynamos, Liefering, Salzburg and Leicester. In the season just ended, he netted 6 goals.
