The big market maneuvers on the axis between Inter Milan and Real Madrid are shaping up to be red-hot, intertwining the fates of three world soccer stars and a sensational return to the bench. It all revolves around the figure of Jose Mourinho, who is close to resitting on the Blancos’ bench should Florentino Perez win the upcoming presidential election on June 7. The Special One already has a shopping list ready to rebuild the Madrid defense, and the first name on the list is that of Alessandro Bastoni.

The Nerazzurri defender, having overcome the sirens of Barcelona, which deflected in the face of Inter’s economic demand, has become Mourinho’s big target. To snatch him from Milan, however, the Spanish management knows that not just any amount will suffice: the Nerazzurri start from a monstrous valuation of at least 70 million euros. A high valuation, which Real could, however, decide to lower by including top-notch technical quid proxies in the deal, igniting a real domino effect.

Here comes the double entanglement with Nico Paz and Arda Güler, reports Tuttosport. Mourinho has let it be known that he wants to test the Argentine talent (now at Como, but armored by Real) directly in Madrid during the summer training camp, a move that on paper would complicate the Nerazzurri’s plans. The track leading to Nico Paz can by no means be called closed: Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti has been maintaining close and constant contacts with the Argentine jewel for some time, a preferential axis that could override the first technical vetoes in Madrid. Meanwhile, the Viale della Liberazione executives have also shifted their sights to Arda Güler, the Turkish fantasist who in the chessboard of the future is likely to find less space.

If Real Madrid decides to get serious about Bastoni, Inter will try to demand a luxury quid pro quo to cover the technical void and make ends meet. At the moment, this is a plot that is inextricably linked to Valdebebas’s corporate balances, but between Zanetti’s diplomatic channels and the courtship to Güler, the phones between Milan and Madrid are already very hot.
