National Friendlies 2025-2026: Ireland-Qatar, likely lineups

Thursday evening at 8:45 p.m., the Aviva Stadium in Dublin is set to host the friendly match between Ireland and Qatar, a useful test for both selections to continue their path of growth. The hosts are looking for a convincing performance in front of their home crowd to start the gathering on the right foot, while the Middle Eastern selection is aiming to regain their match rhythm after a rest period. For the two technical commissioners, this will be the ideal opportunity to rotate the available players, evaluate alternatives and experiment with new tactical solutions in view of the upcoming official commitments.

Heimir will line up his players with a very balanced set-up between the various departments.In front of O’Leary, the defensive three-man line will be led by O’Shea, McGuinness and Abankwah.
