Lionel Messi breathes a big sigh of relief: from fright to mad joy

A news that everyone has been anxiously waiting for: Lionel Messi will be at the next World Cup. For all Argentinians and, in general, for every soccer fan, it is great to know that the former Barcelona and PSG player will be able to play in what will be his sixth World Cup, the last of his career.
Lionel Messi’s name appears in the list of 26 World Cup call-ups issued by Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni. Obviously, the class of 1987 will wear the captain’s armband, as happened in 2022 when the Seleccion won the World Cup.
Unfortunately, the injury suffered in the last match played in the United States with the Inter Miami jersey did not compromise his presence at the World Cup.
Here is the complete list of the summoned by coach Lionel Scaloni (note the presence also of Nico Paz, seen this year with the Como jersey):
Goalkeepers: Dibu Martinez, Musso, Rulli
Defenders: Romero, Lisandro Martinez, Balerdi, Otamendi, Molina, Montiel, Tagliafico
Midfielders: Enzo Fernandez, De Paul, Mac Allister, Paredes, Palacios, Barco, Lo Celso
Strikers: Nico Paz, Thiago Almada, Giuliano Simeone, Nico Gonzalez, Messi, Lautaro Martinez, Alvarez, Lopez.
