Jorge Martin, symbolic choice before announced farewell

Aprilia is preparing for a special weekend at the Italian Grand Prix, not only because it will race in front of the fans of the Bel Paese but also because of a new commercial partnership, with a well-known energy drink company, with which it confirms its commitment also in the future perspective in the top international motorcycle series, also considering that in 2027 the team will experience a profound renewal: Pecco Bagnaia is destined to become the new face of the project, while Jorge Martin will pack his bags to land in Yamaha.
The Spaniard himself, by the way, has chosen to momentarily pause the relationship with his historic personal sponsor, a competing brand of the new partner Aprilia: a decision that is anything but obvious, showing respect for the commercial line of the reality in which he landed at the end of the 2024 season and a clear will, that of not creating friction at a crucial moment for the project, despite the farewell announced at the end of the season.
Martin will therefore continue without visible personal sponsors on his helmet and cap, a choice closely reminiscent of that made by Marc Marquez upon his arrival at Ducati. Even the nine-time world champion, while remaining loyal to his historical partner, preferred not to expose its brand so as not to conflict with the team’s other agreements.
For Aprilia, which next year will welcome Pecco Bagnaia, the arrival of the new sponsor represents an important step from both an economic and a sporting point of view. In fact, the presence of a global brand can further accelerate the growth of the team, already the protagonist of a steadily rising path. And if Marco Bezzecchi will be the most exposed face of the new partnership, Martin’s choice to align with the team’s strategy is read as a gesture of maturity and professionalism.
