Matiasic hunting for sports title: Brescia and beyond in the crosshairs. Trieste basketball for sale

Rumors continue to arrive about Paul Matiasic’s intentions: the owner of Pallacanestro Trieste is on the hunt for a sports title to start a club in Rome that can enter the NBA Europe circuit. The Californian lawyer has ruled out that he will use Trieste’s sports rights, which he will sell to buyers if the project in the Capital materializes.
The latest rumors lead to Leonessa Brescia: Matiasic according to TeleQuattro reports has started negotiations with patron Mauro Ferrari, but the denial of the interested party was clear. The Gazzetta dello Sport speaks of an offer of 6 million euros from Matiasic, who has secured the use of the PalaEur for next season. At the moment, the Matiasic group has not commented on the latest news, postponing everything until the end of the playoffs, which still see Brescia fully in the running.
According to rumors, Matiasic also knocked on the door of newly promoted Scafati, but patron Longobardi reportedly refused, deeming the offer not congruous. There are also rumors about Trapani.
Meanwhile, as reported by Il Piccolo, Matiasic has officially put Trieste Basketball up for sale. “Matiasic’s communication office formalizes the current ownership’s openness to the sale of the club,” the Trieste daily reported.
