Inter Milan could soon revolutionize the right flank: according to rumors coming from the Spanish media, Real Madrid is about to make a concrete move for the Dutch outfielder, winner of two Scudettos with the Nerazzurri team. The initiative would come directly from Jose Mourinho, candidate in pectore as the new coach of the blancos, and soon a special offer could arrive on Beppe Marotta’s table.

Real is looking for replacements on the right flank after the departure of Dani Carvajal, and the oranje outside player is considered one of the main candidates for his succession. In Dumfries’s contract there is a clause that is triggered in July, which would allow him to free himself for 25 million euros, a figure that is absolutely within the Madridisti’s reach.

Already last season there was talk of a possible farewell for the Dutchman, heading for Barcelona, but the deal fell through. Real, on the other hand, seems just decided after Carvajal’s farewell and the flop of substitute Alexander-Arnold.

At home, Inter management is already working not to be found unprepared. According to reports from Sky Sport, the main target to pick up Dumfries’ eventual legacy on the right flank would be Marco Palestra, class of 2005 owned by Atalanta, who has just returned from an extraordinary season on loan at Cagliari – crowned with the award of best defender of Serie A 2025-2026 – and already in the sights of Manchester City as well. Inter presented an initial offer of 40 million euros, which was sent back to sender by the Bergamaschi, who demanded at least 50 million: negotiations are open, but competition is fierce.
