Brescia-Ascoli, last 28' emotionless: everything postponed to the return match

The Union Brescia-Ascoli, the first leg of the final Serie C playoff match that awards the last available Serie B spot, ended without further shaking. The match at Rigamonti Stadium had been suspended at 62′ on Tuesday evening on the result of 1-1 due to impassable field conditions caused by a cloudburst, and the last 28 minutes were played late Wednesday afternoon.
The two teams at the resumption of the match, however, found out little, preferring not to take risks, and the 1-1 result (the guests’ goal by Rizzo Pinna at 8′ had been answered by Crespi at 12′) from which they restarted did not change.
Both Brescia and Ascoli dared little and created few chances. The biggest one, of the Lombardy brand, was signed by Marras who at 91′ with a left-footed shot put the ball out by a whisker.
Everything is thus postponed to the return match scheduled for Sunday, June 7 at 6 p.m. at the Del Duca stadium. In case of a tie, the game will go to overtime and if necessary to penalty kicks.
