Olimpia Milano, two urgent knots to untie in the market

The EA7 Olimpia Milano, engaged in the race for the 2025-26 title, is waiting for some moves by the major Euroleague teams to be finalized before closing the last two roster pieces. At the moment, Hall, Peters, Burnell, Thompson and Akele are considered staples, while the situation related to Shavon Shields remains to be clarified.

Management is also working to identify an outside player who can pick up the legacy of Armoni Brooks, preferably a player capable of alternating between the roles of point guard and guard, as well as a long man who can take Josh Nebo’s place. Among the names evaluated was TJ Shorts, but the track appears complicated, with the player leaning toward a move to Valencia.

The goal of the white-and-red club is to outline the roster for the 2026-2027 season in which Olimpia will try not only to confirm itself in the top positions of the Italian league but also to regain its enchantment in the Euroleague and look forward to those playoffs that have been missing since the 2021-2022 season, when the team then led by Ettore Messina reached the quarters, being eliminated by Anadolu Efes then champions.

At the technical helm of the Red Shoes will remain, barring any resounding surprises, Peppe Poeta, bound by a contract with Olimpia Milano valid for two more years, until June 2028.
