The Valtur Brindisi has announced the contract renewal of Ethan Esposito for the 2026-2027 season. The Italian‑American forward thus joins the tricolor nucleus composed of Andrea Cinciarini, Tommaso Fantoma and Gabriele Miani, in addition to the return of Edoardo Del Cadia: the new biancoazzurro coach, Nicola Brienza, will have them all at his disposal in Brindisi’s new assault on the top league, after finishing in the quarterfinals of this year’s A2 playoffs.

Born in Naples in 1999 and basketball-trained in the United States, Esposito had a 10.2-point, 4.3-rebound and 1.1-assist average season in the regular season, with an increasingly central role in the Biancoazzurre rotation. His performance further increased in the playoffs, where despite losing the series against Verona he starred with an average of more than 15 points, shooting 53 percent from two, 50 percent from three and 87 percent at the free-throw line.

Next season will be the third consecutive one in Serie A2 for Brindisi, after the bitter end of the 2023-2024 season, which ended with last place and consequent relegation. The biancoazzurri reached the promotion playoffs both in 2024-2025 and in the season just ended, stopping, however, in both cases at the quarterfinals.

Next season, the head coach will be Nicola Brienza, back from a year and a half in Cantù: the 1980-born coach will therefore get back into the game in that second series that saw him promoted, precisely with his hometown club, at the end of the 2024-2025 year, after the victorious playoff finals series against Rimini.
