After two years, Virtus and Marco Evangelisti are parting ways, as he has reached the end of his two-year tenure on the Rossoblù bench. The project carried out by the coach and the club has helped the team not only in terms of results but also in the development of the technical program, for which Virtus can only express its deep gratitude to him.

““As a club, we want to bid farewell to Marco Evangelisti with great affection and gratitude,” said sporting director Gabriele Voltolini. “We’ve reached the end of a two-year journey that has been a continuous upward trajectory for us. We started with a two-year plan and moved forward, gradually improving both in terms of results and the growth of the project itself. This was especially true last year, when we reached the playoffs, falling to the team that subsequently and deservedly earned promotion. It was a season in which we were second to none; we always fought with great passion, demonstrating that we have a strong identity. Marco has been a fantastic coach—someone who, through our daily interactions, has also provided insights for the club’s growth. I thank him for this not only as an executive but also on a personal level, because his presence has been a source of constant growth for me. I sincerely hope he’ll be able to prove his worth in higher divisions, because that’s what he deserves. On behalf of the President and the entire club, we wish him the very best of luck and thank him for the great work he’s done over these past two years.”

“These have been two wonderful years, during which we’ve managed to work well and achieve excellent results, given the improvements made by the entire team. It’s certainly been a positive two-year period,” explains Marco Evangelisti. “Like all journeys, however, this one too has a beginning and an end. It’s a shame that our paths are parting; Virtus remains a special place for me, and it couldn’t be otherwise after having been here as both a player and a coach. I’d like to thank President Bruttini, sports director Gabriele Voltolini, and the entire staff who’ve stood by my side over these two years—from the physical and athletic staff to the coaching staff: Carlo, Ciccio, and Francesco have been a fundamental part of this journey, as well as being wonderful people on a personal level. Finally, I’d like to thank all the young players I’ve been fortunate enough to coach over the years, who gave me everything they possibly could. For a coach, winning the hearts of the players is a victory, and with this group, I can say I’ve achieved it.”
