Sadio Mané, Senegal hopes for miracle: 35 imams pray for him
Senegal star Sadio Mané has injured his knee but will be at the World Cup
Senegal is praying for Sadio Mané, the absolute star of the Lions of Teranga, who was summoned to the World Cup in Qatar despite a knee injury sustained in the last league game with Bayern Munich.
The former Liverpool man, a leader and draftee of the Senegalese national team with which he won the African Cup of Nations in 2021, could risk a blistering recovery that would allow him to return for the last game of the group stage against Ecuador on Nov. 29.
According to the Senegalese newspaper Les Echos, 35 imams from 35 different villages in Senegal gathered for him in prayer: the religious leaders recited the Quran 45 times to obtain the Bayern offensive outfielder’s early recovery.
