Here we go—the Wimbledon tournament is about to begin. World No. 1 Jannik Sinner will face Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic on Monday at 2:30 p.m. on the legendary Center Court; Sinner has defeated Kecmanovic four times in their four previous matches over the past few years. In an interview with the official ATP channel, Sinner spoke about the tough challenge ahead of him.

Kecmanovic hasn’t had much luck in the Wimbledon draws in recent years: in 2022, he was eliminated by Novak Djokovic; in 2024, by Sinner; and in 2025, he was knocked out by Nole once again. “This is my lucky Grand Slam…,” he said ironically. “After the draw, at first I was ready to go home… Obviously, it’s tough to face them, and I’ve had tough draws. I haven’t had many chances in past matches, but it’s always great to face legends of this sport.”

“It will be an honor to play on Center Court again and test myself against the world No. 1. He did well here last year, but I’m happy to take the court and I’ll have fun.”

Kecmanovic will try to capitalize on his chances: “I’ll try to make him uncomfortable, and besides, it’s his first match here this year and his first on grass, so I hope he’s not quite in top form yet. We’ll see what happens. He’ll step onto the court with a clear head; I know I’ll just have to play to the best of my ability.”
