On Monday night into Tuesday, at 3:00 a.m. Italian time, the Netherlands and Morocco will face off at the Estadio BBVA in Monterrey in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup. The Dutch finished first in Group F ahead of Japan, Sweden, and Tunisia, while Ouahbi’s team finished second behind Brazil.

Ronald Koeman will be without Jurrien Timber; in defense, van Hecke is expected to start alongside van Dijk, with Dumfries and van de Ven as fullbacks. In midfield, strength and tactical discipline will be provided by Gravenberch, de Jong, and Reijnders, while up front, plenty of quality and speed will come from Gakpo (who, however, remains a last-minute question mark as his partner recently lost their unborn child), Brobbey, and Malen.

With Nayef Aguerd and Abde Ezzalzouli absent from Morocco’s lineup, head coach Ouahbi is expected to field a 4-2-3-1 formation. Bono is confirmed in goal, with Hakimi, Diop, Riad, and Mazraoui in defense. Bouaddi and El Aynaoui will be tasked with orchestrating the play to feed Brahim Diaz, Ounahi, and El Khannouss, who will play behind Saibari.
