2026 World Cup: Switzerland vs. Algeria, Probable Lineups

Switzerland and Algeria will face off at 5 a.m. (Italian time) in Vancouver in a Round of 16 match at the 2026 World Cup in North America. The winner will face either Colombia or Ghana. The Swiss topped Group B: after a disappointing debut against Qatar, they rebounded by defeating both Bosnia and Canada. Algeria finished third in Group J, losing decisively to Argentina in their opener, defeating Jordan, and drawing with Austria in their final match.

Switzerland will field Embolo as the lone striker, with a trio of attacking midfielders consisting of Sow, Manzambi, and Vargas. In midfield are Freuler and Xhaka, while the fullbacks are Jaquez and Rodriguez.

Algeria relies on Gouiri up front, with star player Mahrez in the attacking midfield alongside Maza and Chaibi. In midfield, Boudaoui partners with Bentaleb.
