Born in Olhão on March 19, 1998, Mangas made his professional debut with Deportivo Aves in 2019‑20, before moving to Boavista in the summer of 2020, where he made a name for himself with 28 appearances and 3 goals, attracting the attention of several European clubs. Among these, Bordeaux emerged as the frontrunner, bringing him to Ligue 1 in 2021–22.
