Nico Gonzalez could remain in Serie A, but in a different jersey than Juventus’—this is one of the scenarios that could unfold in the final weeks of the transfer window, with Milan potentially entering the race for the Argentine. The former Fiorentina player has returned to Turin and has been training at Continassa in recent days following his post-World Cup break. His stance, however, seems quite clear: he considers his time with Juventus to be over, and his priority would be to return to Atlético Madrid, where he has found the ideal environment and the respect of his compatriot Diego Simeone.

The issue lies with the transfer fee. The Colchoneros, after having him on loan, chose not to exercise the buyout clause set at 32 million euros. Juventus, for its part, does not seem willing to grant any significant discounts and is asking for at least 26 million, the amount needed to avoid a capital loss. If it were solely up to Nico Gonzalez, his future would likely still be in Madrid. The Argentine has thrived at Atlético and would be ready to return to Simeone’s squad.

At the moment, however, financial terms have prevented the two clubs from reaching an agreement. For this reason, in recent weeks, Gonzalez’s name has also been linked to other Serie A teams. Among them were Inter and Roma. The Nerazzurri, however, have solidified their fullback positions with the arrival of Djed Spence from Tottenham, while the Giallorossi are focused on other targets, starting with Rodrigo Mora and Malick Fofana.

And it is precisely in this scenario that Milan could step in. The Rossoneri are looking for an attacking midfielder or, more generally, an offensive player capable of bringing quality and unpredictability between the lines. Gonzalez could therefore become a last-minute opportunity, especially if the deal were structured as a trade. Milan, in fact, has several players who might interest Juventus. Among the possible names is Fofana, a midfielder who doesn’t fit into Amorim’s plans but who could instead be a welcome option for Spalletti.

Another player who could come back into the picture is Fikayo Tomori. Massara knows the defender well and appreciates his qualities. His potential transfer to Turin could become a reality, especially if Juventus first manages to resolve the situations of several outgoing players, including Rugani, Gatti, and Cabal. The scenario therefore remains to be seen, but in the final weeks of the transfer window, a sensational deal between Juventus and Milan could take shape, with Nico Gonzalez potentially at the center of a trade set to set the Serie A transfer market ablaze.
