Inter Transfer Market: Marotta Speaks Clearly About Lautaro Martinez’s Future

Just a few minutes before kickoff, Inter president Giuseppe Marotta sought to clarify the future of Lautaro Martinez, who in recent days has been at the center of transfer rumors suggesting he is on Barcelona’s radar: “Lautaro is our captain and embodies Inter’s current history. What I can make clear is that the conditions for him to leave Inter do not exist. It’s not even up for discussion.”
The Nerazzurri president then left the door open to a possible transfer move to further strengthen the attack, while emphasizing the quality of the roster available to Cristian Chivu: “Sign another forward? We’re keeping an eye out for opportunities, coordinating with the coach and thanks to the ownership’s support. We’ve made significant investments in recent years. If there’s a chance to invest again, we’ll do so, even though this roster is highly competitive as it is,” he explained.
Marotta also touched on the team’s renewal and the decisions made during the last transfer window, with particular reference to the English players who joined the Nerazzurri: “We built this team a few years ago with the goal of making it a long-term project, which is why we’ve never made major changes. This year, we had to deal with the advancing age of some players whom we reluctantly let go. We’ve signed players who have won a combined total of about 30 titles, which underscores the importance of our goals. Beyond the technical aspect, this is also a crucial factor in modern soccer.”
