Milan Transfer Market: Another Midfielder Leaves; Sassuolo Risks Being Left Empty-Handed

Milan has been very active in the transfer market, but still needs to finalize a few outgoing transfers. Among the players set to leave the Rossoneri is Warren Bondo, for whom Monaco has made a move in recent hours. The midfielder is also attracting interest from other Ligue 1 teams, and he would welcome the chance to return to France. A move to Sassuolo also remains a possibility—a deal that could be finalized more quickly due to timing and paperwork considerations.

Monza had also made a move for the player, proposing a return on loan. Bondo had left the Brianza-based club in January 2025 to join Milan in a deal worth approximately 12 million euros.

Bondo’s situation is part of a still very complex picture of player departures for Milan. Ruben Amorim had already identified the Franco-Congolese midfielder as one of the players not fitting into his technical plans in recent weeks, following the Asian tour. Previously, Rennes and Lens had expressed interest in the player, but only on a loan basis—a solution that Milan had initially viewed less favorably than a permanent transfer.

On the outgoing front, the Rossoneri have had to simultaneously manage numerous thorny situations. In addition to Bondo, Amorim has ruled out several other players from the roster, including Youssouf Fofana, Santiago Gimenez, Christopher Nkunku, and Fikayo Tomori. Gimenez has already secured a move to Porto for approximately 20 million euros, while Fofana is being targeted by clubs in the Premier League and La Liga, with Juventus even attempting to put together a trade deal. Nkunku, on the other hand, has attracted interest from Roma, although the French forward’s salary poses a significant obstacle for the Giallorossi’s finances.

Milan aims to recoup a total of over 100 million euros from planned transfers, funds to be reinvested—at least in part—to complete the roster available to Amorim. This windfall also includes the 14 million euros received thanks to a clause tied to the transfer of Tijjani Reijnders from Manchester City to Al Qadsiah. The finalization of the deal for Bondo, therefore, represents another piece of the outgoing transfer puzzle that the Rossoneri must wrap up as quickly as possible.
