2026 Italian Grand Prix Unveiled in Milan: A Special Race for Antonelli and Ferrari
Anticipation is building for the 2026 Pirelli Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix, which promises to be a record-breaking event and will bring an unprecedented crowd and level of attention to Monza from September 3 to 6. The event at the Brianza circuit comes at the most intense moment of the season, with Kimi Antonelli leading the World Championship and a competitive Ferrari ready to make its move in front of its home crowd. It will be a special edition, then, for the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, which is preparing to host one of the most anticipated Grand Prix events in recent years.
The 2026 Italian Grand Prix was presented this morning at the headquarters of the Automobile Club Milano, the institution that in 1922 envisioned and commissioned the construction of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Speakers at the press conference included the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana; the mayor of Monza, Paolo Pilotto; the Milan City Councilor for Sports, Tourism, and Youth Policies, Martina Riva; and Pirelli’s Executive Chairman, Marco Tronchetti Provera.
Matteo Salvini, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation, participated via video link. Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, addressed the event via a video message. Hosting the event were Geronimo La Russa, President of the Automobile Club d’Italia; Pietro Meda, President of the Automobile Club Milano; and Giuseppe Redaelli, President of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
During the ceremony, a commemorative painting was presented to his son Luigi in honor of Lodovico Scarfiotti, the driver from the Marche region who, 60 years ago, was the last Italian to win his home Grand Prix behind the wheel of a Ferrari. On display at the Automobile Club of Milan headquarters for the occasion were also the Ferrari F399 —the single-seater that raced in the 1999 World Championship—and a 1:1-scale Formula 1 car made entirely of papier-mâché by autistic youth from the Facciavista ETS Association were also on display at the Automobile Club of Milan headquarters for the occasion.
