Argentina’s stars are shaken after the defeat against Saudi Arabia. Post-match Lionel Messi made no excuses: “It’s a hard blow for everyone, we didn’t expect to start like this. However, things happen for a reason, there are no excuses after this knockout, we have to go back to being ourselves. We have to prepare for the competitions to come, we have to win by necessity and it depends on us.”

Also very bitter Lautaro Martinez: “We lost the match because of our mistakes, especially in the second half. There are details that make the difference and there we have to intervene to correct the mistakes. It certainly hurts a lot, we clearly wanted to start this World Cup differently.”
