La Liga 2026–2027: Rayo Vallecano vs. Espanyol, Probable Lineups

Rayo Vallecano and Espanyol face off at 7 p.m. in a match for the sixth round of the Spanish La Liga. The Madrid-based team, which lost to Real Madrid in last weekend’s derby, is in 16th place with 4 points and hopes to capitalize on home-field advantage to climb the standings; the visitors are coming off a fine victory on Saturday in Pamplona, which propelled them to eighth place in the standings.
Camello leads the attack for Rayo, with de Frutos, Diaz, and Garcia forming the attacking midfield trio. Lopez and Valentin anchor the midfield.
Jean leads the Espanyol attack, with Calatrava, Fernandez, and Dolan creating chances behind him. Exposito partners with Moscardo in midfield.
Rayo Vallecano vs. Espanyol
Rayo Vallecano (4-2-3-1): Cardenas; Ratiu, Lejeune, Ciss, Pedrosa; Lopez, Valentin; de Frutos, Diaz, Garcia; Camello. Head Coach: Benat.
Espanyol (4-2-3-1): Dmitrovic; El Hilali, Riedel, Cabrera, Hinojo; Exposito, Moscardo; Calatrava, Fernandez, Dolan; Jean. Head Coach: Gonzalez.
Rayo will have to play again at Leganés’ stadium following the suspension of the Vallecas Stadium permit by the City of Madrid: “We only learned officially on Monday from the club that we’ll be playing at Butarque. All of this is happening at a level that nobody likes and that isn’t good for anyone. I don’t want to comment further, but it’s true that not playing in our own stadium affects the game, our performance, and our day-to-day routine,” said Rayo coach Benat.
