Beppe Iachini May Return to the Bench; An Unexpected Phone Call Comes In

More than two years after his last coaching stint, Beppe Iachini could finally return to the bench—and for the first time, he might work outside of Italy. According to several Bulgarian sources, the coach from Ascoli has been contacted by Ludogorets, and talks are underway to assess the feasibility of the deal.

The Bulgarian team was previously coached by German Thomas Reis, who, however, decided to accept an offer from Trabzonspor, prompting president Aleksandar Alexandrov—along with club owner Kiril Domuschiev—to immediately turn their attention to Beppe Iachini.

Ludogorets decided to contact the former Bari coach after also consulting with Ivaylo Chochev, a midfielder on the Bulgarian team who previously worked with Iachini during his time at Palermo. The player gave his approval, and the deal could be finalized shortly.

Beppe Iachini began his coaching career at Cesena, then went on to manage Vicenza, Piacenza, Chievo, Brescia, Sampdoria, and Siena before joining Palermo in 2013. He coached the Rosanero until 2015 and again in 2016, then had stints in Udine and Sassuolo before taking the helm at Fiorentina in 2019. Between 2021 and 2022, he coached Parma, then Bari in 2024.
