Ducati: Marc Marquez Sounds the Alarm After the Sprint

Ducati rider Marc Marquez, who finished second in the Sprint race at the Austrian MotoGP Grand Prix, shared his thoughts with the team ahead of Sunday’s race: “The bike handles differently here; it’s a unique Grand Prix,” the No. 93 rider told Sky.

“I knew Jorge Martin and Pedro Acosta were faster than me, and my goal was to finish third. You have to start decisively and with confidence. I attacked in Turn 2 because I knew Martin was using the green zone at Turn 1. Tomorrow we’ll see if we can attack there again.”

“Sunday will be a very long race; the rear tire might wear out. I have to watch out for Bezzecchi and Ogura, who have a pace similar to mine. For now, Acosta and Martin have a better pace,” continued the Catalan rider, who managed to snag second place after Acosta’s crash.

Márquez pointed out that all the Ducati riders are struggling at the Red Bull Ring: “Today’s result was the best we could do. Every race is different; here, Martin is more explosive. The important thing is to stay in the mix, and the pace is still good.”
