Jorge Lorenzo ruthless on Marc Marquez and Ducati: "The bike feels like a tractor and he…"

Marc Marquez is heavily held back by physical problems: according to Jorge Lorenzo, Ducati’s Catalan champion is unlikely to compete for the MotoGP world championship this season. At the ‘Dura la vita’ podcast, the former Majorcan centaur seems to have no doubts and is unbalanced: “We’ve only raced 4 GPs, but for me this year only Bezzecchi can lose the title.”
The problem is always the arm of the number 93 star: “He doesn’t want to talk about it but because of that arm he doesn’t have the physical strength to take the bike to the limit under braking, entering corners as he did before. Technically he’s still superior, even in those conditions.”
Marquez also can no longer count on the superior bike: “Aprilia will dominate in 80 or 90 percent of the tracks because they improved the bike by 2 tenths from last year, while Ducati did not. If Ducati improved by one tenth, Aprilia improved by 3. Aprilia made three steps forward if Ducati made one. I can see it in the corners, in the straights, the bike is scary, it’s glued to the ground and turns like a minimoto, while Ducati looks like a tractor.”
Confirming the overturning of hierarchies are also the words of Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivola, who did not hide his satisfaction with the Noale-based manufacturer’s golden moment: “We are also benefiting from the fact that Marc Marquez is clearly not right. We have worked great over the winter, and Marco Bezzecchi has the advantage of starting further up the grid than others.”
The next test will be the French Grand Prix at Le Mans, the fifth round of the World Championship scheduled for May 8-10. Bezzecchi comes to the French appointment with great motivation: “I am very happy to race in Le Mans. It is a fantastic circuit and there are always many fans. There is a lot of desire to continue doing well, so we will try to have a good weekend.”
