Soccer Player Hit by a Car Before the Game, Panic in Thailand: Watch the Video

It’s hard to believe what happened just a few minutes before the match between Pattani and Prachuap, a game in the Thai Premier League (the top division of Thai soccer). A groundskeeper drove onto the field with a roller and accidentally ran over Andros Townsend.

Fortunately, the Prachuap player was not injured: the English player started the match on the bench and came on in the final minutes when the team was already leading 3-0. It was quite a scare, but it could have been worse.

Having come up through Tottenham’s youth system, Andros Townsend played on loan as a teenager for Yeovil Town, Leyton Orient, MK Dons, Ipswich Town, Watford, and Millwall. He later returned to the Spurs in 2011, but the club sent him out on loan again: first to Leeds United, then to Birmingham City, and finally to QPR.

In 2013, Townsend returned to Tottenham and remained there until 2016, making 45 appearances and scoring 3 goals. Newcastle then decided to sign him on a permanent basis, but it was at Crystal Palace that the player finally found consistency. With the Glaziers, he played 168 games and scored 13 goals between 2016 and 2021, when he moved to Everton. He played 23 games for Luton Town before moving to Antalyaspor in Turkey and then to Prachuap in 2025.
