Daniele Adani finds a new way to criticize Max Allegri: “I can’t stand seeing him like this”

Daniele Adani returns to one of his favorite topics: criticizing Massimiliano Allegri. During *La Domenica Sportiva*, the RAI commentator once again took aim at the Napoli coach following the Azzurri’s setback against Fiorentina at the Franchi Stadium. After five league matches, Napoli sits in ninth place with 7 points, 6 points behind the leader.

“When I think about the Fiorentina-Napoli match, I can’t see Napoli playing like that. I can’t see them playing a game the way Genoa or Bologna might.” You mentioned anger, but should we at *La Domenica Sportiva* be the ones to instill that anger in the team, or should the coach?” Adani asked.

“I just can’t figure out what this Napoli team’s mindset is; they’re performing at a level that’s inadequate given their playing potential, stature, ambition, and recent history. They’re playing mediocre soccer, moving at a slow pace. Hojlund came off in the 56th minute after preaching to the choir; Anguissa brought him on in the 90th, and Vergara wasn’t used at all. Napoli’s quality should lead to different performances—they need to turn things around.”

Adani also spoke about Roma vs. Inter, pointing the finger at the Nerazzurri’s approach—even against the Giallorossi, they fell behind by two goals before staging a comeback: “Inter feel in control, and that’s when they get slapped in the face. Even if you’re the strongest team, when you don’t prove it, you fall behind against everyone. Against Real Madrid, just like against Udinese. They, too, believe they’re the strongest, because they’re the ones dictating the game and feel in control. That’s how the beatings happen.”
