Alessio Cragno, a possible comeback: his name is back in the news

Kamil Grabara’s injury has forced Juventus to return to the goalkeeper market: among the names on the Bianconeri management’s list is Alessio Cragno. A player eager to bounce back after several unlucky years, he could provide a reliable and immediate solution as Vicario’s backup.

At 32, the former Cagliari goalkeeper is still looking for the right opportunity to relaunch his career after a difficult period, but his resume continues to speak for itself: 170 appearances in Serie A, over 100 in Serie B, and even two appearances with the Italian national team. These numbers tell the story of a significant career and explain why his name is being carefully considered at this delicate stage of the season.

For the Rossoblù fans, however, Cragno is much more than just a statistic. Between 2017 and 2022, he was one of Cagliari’s icons, a key figure in important seasons marked by spectacular saves and decisive interventions, with the sole disappointment being the team’s relegation in the 2021–2022 season. For several years, however, Cragno was considered one of the best goalkeepers in the league, attracting interest from top clubs such as Inter and Milan.

After suffering a serious Achilles tendon injury last season while playing for Südtirol, the goalkeeper has fully regained his physical condition and is now waiting for a new opportunity. Juventus could offer him just that: the chance to return to the highest level in a prestigious environment with ambitious goals.
