Carlos Alcaraz: The Most Heartfelt Tribute to Jannik Sinner

Carlos Alcaraz can’t wait to face Jannik Sinner again. The matchup between the two has been postponed once again after the Italian decided to delay his return to the court and skip the Beijing tournament, leaving the Murcia native with no choice but to send some messages of respect to his rival.

In recent days, on the sidelines of the Rod Laver Cup, Alcaraz has mentioned the Italian several times: in one interview, he admitted that he’d like to have some of Sinner’s shots; in another, he said he considers Sinner the toughest opponent he’s ever faced in his career.

In an interview with TNT Sports, the Spanish star was asked which match was the best of his career, and Alcaraz immediately pointed to the 2025 Roland Garros final, which he won in a comeback victory over Sinner at the end of an incredible match. Another tribute to the player he most wants to face in the coming months.

“I have to admit that I miss him: I miss seeing him on the tour and facing him on the court. Jannik pushes me to be a better player. I think this break in our rivalry might even have a positive effect, because it will build anticipation for our next matches. I hope we can face each other again by the end of the year, and for that very reason, I think it will be a good thing in the long run,” explained the Spaniard.
