Spain, a spectacular victory at Wembley against England

Spain took Wembley by storm, defeating England 3-2 in a spectacular match on the first day of the Nations League. The world and European champions, unbeaten for more than two years, reaffirmed their status by defeating Tuchel’s team with goals from Lamine Yamal, Baena, and Oyarzabal.

It was a thrilling first half, with Yamal immediately punishing the English defense by capitalizing on a costly mistake by Guehi in the 2nd minute of the match: the Manchester City player lost the ball badly, and the Barcelona star fired past Trafford to give Spain the lead. England fell apart, and Spain came close to scoring a second goal several times through Ferran Torres, who squandered too many chances.

And so the Three Lions turned the game around in an instant: in the 36th minute, on a counterattack, Bellingham set up Gordon, who beat Simon to score the equalizer, making it 1-1. Just four minutes later, England doubled their lead thanks to a header by Kane, set up by O’Reilly.

Early in the second half, Rodri brought down Bellingham in the box, and referee Massa awarded England a penalty, which Kane missed by hitting the crossbar with Simon off his line. Luis De La Fuente breathed new life into his team by bringing on Oyarzabal and Baena for Ferran Torres and Nico Williams, and Spain turned the score in their favor.

Baena tied the game at 2-2 in the 60th minute with a perfect right-footed shot from the edge of the box, and in the 74th minute, he set up Oyarzabal, who beat Trafford with an elegant touch to make it 3-2, sealing the victory for La Roja. The score remained unchanged: the Red Fury sent another clear message to the entire world.
