Giuseppe De Bellis is leaving Sky to join Il Sole 24 Ore

Giuseppe De Bellis’s resignation from Sky Italia—which had been foreshadowed by rumors circulating for days that also hinted at his next position—prompted Il Sole 24 ORE to move up the Board of Directors meeting, originally scheduled for September 30, to this afternoon.

The Board of Directors unanimously approved the appointment of De Bellis as editor-in-chief of Il Sole 24 ORE, Radio 24, Radiocor, and the Group’s other news outlets, effective December 7, 2026. At the same time, Fabio Tamburini was confirmed in his role as editorial director of the Il Sole 24 ORE Group.

In a statement released following the meeting, the group thanked Tamburini for his work since his return in 2018, highlighting his contribution to the company’s revitalization and to strengthening the publications’ credibility. Among the achievements highlighted were the development of new initiatives, such as the Trento Economics Festival, and the celebrations marking the newspaper’s 160th anniversary.

Giuseppe De Bellis, 48, takes on the new role following a career that spans print media, digital media, magazines, television, and multimedia platforms. Since July 2025, he has served as Executive Vice President of News, Sports & Entertainment at Sky Italia and as editorial director of Sky TG24, with responsibility for the group’s content offerings—ranging from news to entertainment—including the Sky, TV8, and Cielo channels and their respective digital operations.

De Bellis has led Sky TG24 since 2019. Under his leadership, the news outlet has strengthened its multiplatform presence, complementing television with web content, apps, social media, and events. Previously, he served as editor-in-chief of GQ Italia for Condé Nast and spent fifteen years, from 2001 to 2016, at Il Giornale, where he rose to the position of deputy editor-in-chief and later co-editor-in-chief.
