The Baratieri Foundation was born from the deep dedication to animals of two Milanese sisters, Countesses Clementina and Clotilde Baratieri. From a young age they showed a special sensitivity to abandoned dogs, preferring to care for them rather than follow the usual habits of’age, such as attending parties or hanging out with peers.

They were the first to take care of the animals.

For years, their home in the heart of Milan was a shelter for hundreds of homeless dogs. Their deep bond with the animals culminated in their last will and testament: with their will, they left their entire estate to the creation of a foundation that would take in and care for abandoned dogs, starting with those who were already living with them.
