Tour of the Alps, fourth stage and leadership for Thymen Arensman

The Dutchman Thymen Arensman, of Ineos Grenadiers, won the 162.7-kilometer fourth stage of the Tour of The Alps by a breakaway, with start and finish in the Austrian towns of Sillian and Obertilliach.

Arensman came to the finish line after more than 70 kilometers of solo breakaway, on a very tough course made even tougher by cold and rain.

In second place, trailing by 1’16” Canadian Derek Gee (Israel-Premier Tech), third at 1’20” Australian Michael Storer (Tudor) who had to surrender to Arensman the lead in the overall standings, where the Dutchman now has an 11″ lead over Storer.

The Dutchman was the first rider to finish the stage.

In today&#8217s stage Gall, Ciccone and Caruso finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively with a delay of 3’44”.
