Domenico Pozzovivo thanks Ulissi, Nibali and Bettiol

It’s been a complicated few months for Domenico Pozzovivo, who only in the last few days managed to find a contract to tackle what will be his 19th season as a professional: the Policoro native will in fact race with Israel-Premier Tech and make his season debut at the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali.

Interviewed by ‘Tuttobiciweb,’ Pozzovivo spoke among other things about those who have been close to him in the months of uncertainty: “Certainly there have been people who morally helped me so much, they are Diego Ulissi, Vincenzo Nibali and Alberto Bettiol. When I was training with them they never made me feel like a former rider and never told me why I kept training.”

“On the contrary,” added the 40-year-old rider, “they always made me feel like an active rider and never close to retirement. Truly they have been humanly invaluable.”
