An exciting Pro-Am Golf Around Tour tournament was held at the Le Rovedine Golf Club in Opera (Milan), located at Via Karl Marx 18. Located in a strategic area just outside Milan and close to the ring road, the club enjoys excellent transportation links and is easily accessible by car or public transit. Antonio Faravelli also arrived in what could be called the “Van of Wonders”: inside were the prestigious wines from Cantine Vitea, which were enjoyed by everyone—athletes and non-athletes alike—at the end of the event.

This isn’t the first time Faravelli has graced the greens of the Le Rovedine Golf Club. The winemaker and golfer from Montù Beccaria, in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese region, had already taken center stage at this same venue during the Golfaround charity event, where he presented Cantine Vitea’s award-winning wines and shared with attendees his vision for revitalizing “Made in Italy” through the “Golf and Wine 1895” project.

The project, which blends sports, culture, and food and wine, has led Faravelli to take center stage during a particularly busy season, playing on the greens of some of Italy’s most prestigious clubs, including the Monticello Golf Club, the Villa Paradiso Golf Club in Cornate d’Adda, the Barlassina Golf Club, the La Pinetina Golf Club, and the Bogogno Golf Resort in the Novara area, receiving enthusiastic acclaim everywhere he went—both for the wines and for the entrepreneurial vision behind the initiative.

Among the flagship wines that participants were able to enjoy, the Metodo Classico Pinot Nero Pas Dosé, the Pinot Grigio Trame’s, and the Bonarda Gallesio—all ranked by Italy’s Finest Wines among the best Italian wines and, in the past, even capable of winning over the famous composer Giacomo Puccini. Also featured were the Podere San Carlo Chardonnay, the Viteus Riesling—a winner of the Hunter Award in Merano—and the Cà del Cervo Buttafuoco, which received the “Corona” award from the Vinibuoni d’Italia guide.

Cantine Vitea traces its roots back to 1895, the year in which great-grandfather Antonio Faravelli founded the winery in Montù Beccaria. For over a century and across five generations, the family has carried on a winemaking tradition that combines artisanal expertise, innovation, and a commitment to sustainability. The vineyards, situated at altitudes between 230 and 275 meters on clay-limestone soils, enjoy excellent sun exposure—ideal conditions for producing grapes of the highest quality.

The philosophy behind the project goes beyond simply promoting wines. As Faravelli himself has emphasized on several occasions: “It is essential to grow golf in our country. The more people who play this sport, the more the local economy, tourism, and the promotion of the region are strengthened. If golf grows, the entire system grows. Let’s play and work together for the good of Italy.”
