Naples dominates; Coach Repesa is already looking ahead

Napoli Basket secured a decisive victory in Montenegro against Budućnost, defeating them 93-75 in the EuroCup. This marks the second consecutive win for the team from Campania, which leads Group C of the continental competition. Marco Spissu had a strong game with 11 assists, while Zach Seljaas led all scorers with 23 points.

Here’s what Coach Jasmin Repesa had to say after the excellent road win: “It was a great victory for us, perhaps easier than I might have expected, but these things happen early in the season. We prepared very well for the game; our first objective was to control the defensive rebounds. They’re a taller team than us and stronger around the basket. Once we started controlling the rebounds, we were able to run the floor, make easy baskets, and build confidence.”

“That’s what made the difference. Now we have to put this game behind us and focus on the next one. We’re playing every three days, and we don’t yet have the experience to handle such back-to-back games,” concluded Repesa, who is already looking ahead to the Azzurri’s upcoming matches.

Napoli will return to the court next Sunday at 5 p.m. against Cantù in a game counting toward the third round of the Italian league.
