Adriano Vertemati concedes defeat to Treviso: “We’ll have to work hard”

Adriano Vertemati spoke at a press conference following his team APU Old Wild West Udine’s decisive loss: “Congratulations to Treviso, who deserved to win and played consistently for 40 minutes, putting together a better second half than we did, led by Russell and Cappelletti, but also by Macura, who was aggressive off the ball.”
“They played well; we didn’t play well defensively in the second half, although holding Treviso to 80 points on their home court is a tall order—we’ll have to work on that. I think there was a moment when the game slipped away from us, and Treviso’s character on this court was decisive,” concluded the Friuli team’s coach.
For Nutribullet, this is an important win at the PalaVerde, following last week’s loss at the Forum against Olimpia Milano (106-77). On that occasion, Coach Marcelo Nicola had told the team to “keep their heads down and keep working.”
For Udine, however, the loss puts an end to a positive start to the season: on opening day, the Friulians had soundly defeated Scafati 87-63. In the preseason, APU had narrowly lost the “Gianni Brusinelli” Memorial to Trento (91-87), after holding an 11-point lead at one point in the second half.
Meanwhile, Nutribullet had to make a move in the transfer market: Chico Carter’s injury prompted the club to sign Jeremy Senglin, a combo guard born in 1995 and originally from Kansas City, to a three-month contract with an option to extend through the end of the season. The player has previously played for Reggio Emilia and Brindisi in the LBA, and the three-point shot is his primary weapon.
